How Much Does a Hotel Website Cost? (2026, USD Pricing)

A hotel website starts at $499 and takes 5–7 days. What a direct-booking hotel site costs, what is included, and when it pays for itself.

By the Digiocular team ·

Most hotel owners ask the price of a website before they ask what it is for. That is backwards, but understandable: quotes for "a hotel website" range from a do-it-yourself builder page to agency proposals with no number on them at all. This guide gives you our real numbers, in US dollars, for the same build we sell to hotels in India, the Philippines and anywhere else. Then it shows what each line pays for and how to check whether the site earns its cost back.

One thing up front: a hotel website is not a replacement for Booking.com, Agoda, MakeMyTrip or your channel manager. It is the one place online where a guest can book you without a commission leaving your pocket. Everything below is about making that place fast, trustworthy and easy to book.

What does a hotel website cost at Digiocular?

Our hotel website starts at $499 (USD, one-time) and is scoped for: Room showcase, booking integration, photo gallery, WhatsApp CTA. It typically takes 5–7 days; the biggest factor is how quickly your photos, room details and feedback come back. The pieces that turn it from a brochure into a place guests can pay are priced as separate add-ons, so you can see exactly what you are buying:

Domain registration, your booking engine's own subscription (if you use one) and any applicable taxes are separate and itemised in your quote, which we agree before any work starts.

Do I need a new booking engine, or can the website use mine?

If you already use a booking engine or channel manager, such as STAAH, SiteMinder or the engine your PMS provides, keep it. Your rates and availability already live there, and it already pushes them to the OTAs. The website's job is to send guests into that engine at the right room, with their dates filled in, instead of dropping them on a generic search page.

That is what Hotel Vagmi's site does. Every room on hotelvagmi.com deep-links into the hotel's branded engine at booking.hotelvagmi.com, carrying the guest's dates, rooms and occupancy across. The "from" price shown on the website is read live from the engine and anchored to tonight, so the site never advertises a rate the guest cannot actually get.

If you have no booking engine, the $249 booking system gives guests a date-and-room request flow on your own site, and the $249 payment gateway lets them pay for it. Small properties with a handful of rooms often start with WhatsApp enquiries instead and add online payment later. Both routes work; the right one depends on how many rooms you sell and who answers the phone at night.

What is included in the $499 hotel website?

Every website we build, hotel or otherwise, ships with the same base list. None of these are upsells:

  • A custom design made for your property. No templates, no Wix exports.
  • A mobile-first layout, because most guests look you up on a phone.
  • A fast, modern build (Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind), hosted on Vercel with SSL and automatic backups.
  • Search basics built in: Schema.org markup, clean page structure and a sitemap.
  • A live staging link while we build, so you watch it take shape.
  • One round of revisions before launch and two weeks of free support after it.
  • The full code repository in your name, with no lock-in. You can take it anywhere.

For hotels specifically, the build covers a page or section for each room type, a photo gallery, the link into your booking engine and a WhatsApp button, so a guest with a question is one tap from your front desk.

What does a hotel website cost to run each year?

The build is paid once. After launch, three running costs remain, and a fair quote names all three:

  • Domain: a small yearly fee to keep yourhotel.com, paid to the registrar in your name.
  • Hosting: modern static-first sites cost little to host at hotel traffic levels. We deploy on Vercel.
  • Upkeep: optional. Our maintenance plan is $49/mo. For more than upkeep, our retainers run $99/mo (content updates and monitoring), $249/mo (adds social posts and Google listing updates) and $499/mo (adds Google and Meta ads).

Rates change with the seasons. If nobody updates the site, it slowly starts to disagree with your OTA listings, and guests trust whichever looks more current. That is why the Hotel Vagmi build reads its rate live from the engine instead of printing it on the page.

How quickly does a hotel website pay for itself?

OTAs charge a commission on every booking they send you. Booking.com's partner help page says its commission is a set percentage of the total booking amount, including the room rate and extra fees such as cleaning or cancellation charges. The exact percentage depends on your country, property type and agreement, and it can be higher if you take part in marketing programs such as Preferred Partner or Visibility Booster. Before its rebuild, Hotel Vagmi was paying 18–22% commission on OTA bookings.

This is arithmetic on stated inputs, not a promise about your bookings. Guests book direct only when your site feels as safe as the OTA: real photos, a visible phone number, a working booking button on a phone and a price that matches what they saw elsewhere.

Can guests find my hotel website on Google for free?

Yes, in part. Google's Hotel Center help explains that with free booking links, "your booking site can appear across Google when users search for hotels", showing your hotel or site name and room rate for the dates a traveller picked. On cost, it is plain: "There's no cost for clicks on free booking links." New hotels can connect through a reservation system provider that is already integrated with Google, so ask yours whether it can set this up for you.

The link lands on your website or booking page. If that page is slow or confusing on a phone, a free click from Google turns into a lost booking. So the website still does the closing, even when Google does the finding.

Which hotels has Digiocular built websites for?

  • Hotel Vagmi, Varanasi (India): a full rebuild with a branded booking engine, tonight's live rate, WhatsApp on every room and a complete Hindi edition.
  • Shree Ganesha Palace, Varanasi (India): a rebuild of sgphotels.com for a heritage hotel, with a room gallery and direct WhatsApp booking.
  • Sri Shyam Villas (India): a luxury boutique site with one-tap WhatsApp booking from every suite, scoring 98/100 on mobile PageSpeed.
  • Highlights Taal Lakeview Resort, Batangas (Philippines): a lakefront resort site with WhatsApp booking and a custom buyout flow.

Different properties, one pattern: the website makes booking direct the obvious choice, and the OTAs keep doing what they are good at, which is introducing new guests.

How do I start, and what do I pay upfront?

  1. 20-minute discovery call (free), about your property, your booking engine and your guests.
  2. Free homepage sample in 24–48 hrs (free), so you see the design before paying anything.
  3. If you like it, a 25% deposit starts the build.
  4. Then 75% on delivery, once the site is live, tested and signed off.

All prices are published in US dollars; local currency is available on request for India. The same prices apply to a guesthouse in Varanasi, a resort in Batangas or a hotel anywhere else, and your quote lists every line before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a hotel website cost?
At Digiocular a hotel website starts at $499 (USD, one-time) and takes 5–7 days. Adding a booking system ($249) and a payment gateway ($249) brings a direct-booking site to $997. Domain, booking-engine subscription and taxes are separate and itemised in your quote.
Will a new website replace my booking engine or channel manager?
No. If you already use one, such as STAAH or SiteMinder, the website deep-links into it with the guest's dates and room carried across. Your rates and OTA connections stay where they are.
Do I still need Booking.com, Agoda or MakeMyTrip?
Yes, for discovery. OTAs introduce guests who have never heard of you. The website exists so that returning guests, and guests who look you up after finding you on an OTA, can book you directly without a commission.
What does a hotel website cost per month after launch?
Nothing is mandatory beyond your domain and hosting. Our optional maintenance plan is $49/mo, and broader retainers run $99/mo to $499/mo.
Do you build hotel websites outside India?
Yes. The same USD prices apply in India, the Philippines and worldwide. Highlights Taal Lakeview Resort in Batangas, Philippines, is one of our hotel and resort builds.
